GeneralWhat does QualiPath do?+

We help Ghanaian professionals understand what their qualification means in New Zealand, then prepare and submit their NZQA and registration applications with them. We also offer career preparation.

GeneralDo you only give advice, or help with applications too?+

We do the hands-on work with you: reviewing documents, preparing your NZQA application, helping you submit it, tracking it and explaining the result. We do the same for Teaching Council or Nursing Council applications where needed.

GeneralIs QualiPath an immigration adviser?+

No. Visa applications need a licensed immigration adviser under New Zealand law, so we don't lodge visas or give immigration advice. You can apply with a licensed adviser or directly with Immigration New Zealand.

GeneralWhere are you based?+

In Ghana. We work with clients across Greater Accra, Kumasi, Cape Coast and beyond, with calls on WhatsApp, Google Meet or phone.

NZQA & IQADo I need an IQA?+

It depends. Overseas-trained teachers need a Teaching IQA. Work visa applicants relying on a qualification below a Level 7 bachelor's degree generally need one. Nurses usually follow the Nursing Council route instead. Try the Pathway Finder for a likely answer in 2 minutes.

NZQA & IQAHow long does an IQA take?+

NZQA reports average waits of about 10 weeks, counted from when your file is complete. Missing documents are the most common cause of delay.

NZQA & IQADoes my certificate title decide my New Zealand level?+

No. NZQA decides the level based on your qualification and the evidence you provide, not its title.

NZQA & IQAWhy do I need transcripts sent from my university?+

NZQA verifies documents, and for some it needs them directly from your institution. We tell you exactly what to request and how to follow up.

NZQA & IQACan I appeal if my result is lower than expected?+

Yes. NZQA's appeal fee is NZ$765, and you must appeal within 20 working days of the date on your recognition statement. If the appeal changes your outcome, NZQA refunds the fee less a NZ$55 administration fee. That's why getting your evidence right first time matters. (Checked on NZQA's fees page, 4 November 2026.)

TeachersI have a B.Ed. Do I still need a Teaching IQA?+

Yes. NZQA no longer pre-approves overseas teaching qualifications, so you need a Teaching IQA before you can register with the Teaching Council.

TeachersWhat comes first: the job, registration or the IQA?+

The Teaching IQA, then Teaching Council registration, then the job and visa. You can look at jobs early, but registration depends on your IQA.

NursesDo nurses need an NZQA IQA?+

Usually not. The Nursing Council assesses nursing qualifications itself, starting with credential verification through TruMerit.

NursesWill I have to sit an exam?+

Some applicants do. The Nursing Council decides whether you need a competence assessment, which can include an exam and a practical OSCE in New Zealand.

StudentsDo I need an IQA to study in New Zealand?+

Usually not. Institutions normally assess your qualification themselves. An IQA can matter later when you look for work or a work visa.

StudentsWhy get my transcripts before I leave Ghana?+

It's much easier while you're near your school. Requesting documents from abroad is slower and can delay an IQA later.

CostsIs your fee the same as the NZQA fee?+

No. Official fees are paid directly to NZQA and councils. Our fee is separate, confirmed in writing at your free review.

CostsIs the free pathway review really free?+

Yes. A 30-minute call and a one-page summary, with no payment and no obligation.

CostsHow much is the Standard IQA?+

NZ$445 for one qualification, per our guide. Fees change, so we confirm the current fee on NZQA's site before you pay.

Trust & safetyCan you guarantee my result?+

No, and nobody honestly can. NZQA, registration bodies and Immigration New Zealand make all decisions. Anyone who guarantees an outcome is a warning sign.

Trust & safetyHow do I know you're legitimate?+

Check us before you pay: our Verify Us page lists our real names, business details and official contacts. We will never ask for payment to a personal mobile money number.

Trust & safetyShould I send my passport on WhatsApp?+

No. Share documents only through a secure upload. Never send your passport or certificates to anyone over WhatsApp.
